This listing is for the beautiful piece of Moldavite from Slavice, south of Trebic, Moravia, Czech Republic. This moldavite still contains the original numbered mark from the Darryl Futrell collection. It was cataloged as being originally acquired from K. Tucek between 1966-1970. This 100% natural Moldavite displays gorgeous color and excellent, top-quality texture for this rare location. It is a beautiful example of the material that comes from Moravia with its slightly worn surface, hefty size, and distinctive color. It is in great shape for the material from this locality as Moravian moldavite is surface collected from farm fields. Therefore, stones are often damaged from tilling/ plows. This piece has no significant damage, and a gently rippling texture. It is great size for any collection, display, or a palm stone. There is a photo next to a centimeter cube for size reference.
Weight- 33.4 grams
Moldavite is a natural glass known as a tektite, formed from the heat and pressures of a meteorite impact. The event that formed Moldavite occurred approximately 15 million years ago when an asteroid broke apart while falling to earth. This resulted in the formation of two craters- the Ries and Steinheim craters in southeastern Germany. The heat and pressure from this impact melts the surrounding earthen material and throws it into the outer limits of the atmosphere. The resulting strewn field of this celestial glass includes portions of what is now the Czech Republic. Moldavite is unique among tektites and renowned for its beautiful green color. This color spectrum is due to different levels of impurities of Chromium (among other trace metals) which fused with the glass as a result of the heat/pressure of the impacting body.

Standard shipping is the most economical method- First Class Mail through the U.S. Postal Service. This does not come with guaranteed tracking to the destination. The package usually scans and updates within the U.S. however, international tracking is not available. It is the buyers responsibility to understand all shipping/customs policies in their country.
We offer many shipping upgrades which include tracking and insurance upon request. Please contact us to customize shipping options (such as signature confirmation and added insurance) or select 'Tracking and Insurance' as an upgrade to Priority mail.
Please note, that some destinations do not offer Priority Mail tracking.
**We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or delayed mail
I ship through USPS First Class Mail in order to offer low cost shipping. Unfortunately, this service is highly variable on shipping times, and is inconsistent in tracking international. Typically packages can arrive anywhere from 10-30 business days or longer. Although First Class is my default shipping method I highly recommend upgraded shipping for express shipping times, guaranteed tracking, and insurance. Please contact us with any questions you may have or to request the use of Fed Ex or UPS services.
We can customize according to just about any request. Feel free to contact us in regards to combining shipping or to request custom parcels, specialty orders, or whole sale availability.
Safe and responsible packaging is one of our main priorities. We package every order carefully inside a high quality reinforced shipping box. Each item is wrapped individually in fresh paper towels and bubble warp. We appreciate you recycling and reusing our package material in order to keep our carbon foot print low.
