Above is a lovely amethyst crystal from the Thunder Bay district of Ontario Canada. This famous area has been producing a variety or minerals for centuries. In the mid 19th century the Thunder Bay District of Ontario became a popular area to mine zinc, silver, and amethyst. Today this area still produces a wide variety of amethyst points and clusters. The amethyst in this region are associated with rock formed during the late Precambrian period (1.2 to 0.9 billion years ago). Tectonic movement and fracturing was frequent during this time. Gas and fluids injected into the fractured rock precipitated amethyst crystals and other minerals. This is why amethyst from this region is highly variant and commonly contains a variety of other mineral inclusions. The crystal photographed here contains flecks of hematite and other minerals which are unknown. Thunder Bay amethyst is famous for good reason. The deep color and complex formations make them stunning for collecting. Plus their ancient origins enable us to connect to the earth's storied past.

Is shipping guaranteed to track?
Standard shipping is the most economical method- First Class Mail through the U.S. Postal Service. This does not come with guaranteed tracking to the destination. The package usually scans and updates within the U.S. however, international tracking is not available. It is the buyers responsibility to understand all shipping/customs policies in their country.
We offer many shipping upgrades which include tracking and insurance upon request. Please contact us to customize shipping options (such as signature confirmation and added insurance) or select 'Tracking and Insurance' as an upgrade to Priority mail.
Please note, that some destinations do not offer Priority Mail tracking.

Are there estimated shipping times for First Class Package?
I ship through USPS First Class Mail in order to offer low cost shipping. Unfortunately, this service is highly variable on shipping times, and is inconsistent in tracking international. Typically packages can arrive anywhere from 10-30 business days or longer. Although First Class is my default shipping method I highly recommend upgraded shipping for express shipping times, guaranteed tracking, and insurance. Please contact us with any questions you may have or to request the use of Fed Ex or UPS services.
